A series of lasts…

So as many of you know I have been making a lot of changes to my technology lifestyle. I have changed website host, I have consolidated my emails, reduced my email clutter and I am working on a new task/project management workflow. Today I am making another change.

Today marks the last time I will be posting to this blog. I have moved to a new address with a new host. The address is blog.caynezimmerman.com (original, I know) and the host is liveBooks (the same company that hosts my website.) The look of the blog is much simpler than the current blog; and while some won’t like it, I do because it is a direct mirror of my current website. It fits well with that whole branding thing.

Today is also the last day that I will be writing from MarsEdit. For the past couple of days I have been really embracing the use of my favorite Apple apps and web apps. I am going to try to do the same with my blog posts by using the Wordpress editor. If it proves to cumbersome I have a backup plan that will also rely on a web app instead of another third-party app. Wish me luck.

And finally, this week will more than likely be my last week with my hosting provider. After four years of service they have left me stranded without the ability to manage my domains. The service has been down for a week with no ETA in sight. This is completely unacceptable but after four years I am going to give them until the end of the week to get it together.

Thats’s all from this side of the web. Be sure to update your feeds so you can keep following along…

Until next time….

Cayne Z.

P.S. The name of the new blog is Redefining Focus. It sums up everything I am doing with my life these days.

Putting it all together

So I’ll try to make this brief.
After much discussion I have decided to make Photographing A Cure a project that falls under the Cayne Zimmerman Photography business umbrella. This falls inline with my original plans. Originally Photographing A Cure was going to be a series of books that I was going to self publish for [...]

Three the Hard Way: The Introduction

And I quote, “Storm is a busy guy. Mix thousands of contacts with hundreds of projects and a few workshops, and you could get chaos. But Storm keeps it all straight with iCal and Address Book. ā€œI’m a crazy Mail, Address Book, and iCal guy,ā€ he says. ā€œI have more than 7,000 contacts in my [...]

Random Thoughts

It Midnight and my mind is racing. I’m actually fine with that since I’m waiting for the wife to call me and ask for a ride home from Girl’s Night. My racing mind is helping to kill time. I’ve decided to put some of these thoughts down in writing.
1. I need to put more time [...]

A question of style… what I prefer

I have been spending a good portion of the evening trying to analyze who I am as a wedding photographer. What style of shooting represents by best work? What level of interactive puts my customer at ease? What combination of the two puts me at ease? All I can say is this is a tough [...]
